Hi Everyone, Working on the Peavey Classic 30 tube amp. Pulled up the schematic, but values that's given for the cpacitors are like 22A25. What is that in Farads. Heres a copy of the schematic. Again any help would be most welcome T www.blueguitar.org/new/schem/peavey/c30schem.gif

tre,
Looking at the schematic, and where the cap is placed (I stopped looking after finding the first one....), I can say with some authority that the cap is a 22µfd, 25WVDC* unit. The 'A' refers to the tolerance range of the device, which translates to 20%, give or take.
The capacitance value here isn't critical, but the final tonality will change somewhat, if you should feel the need to experiment (like a True Nutz!). However, the voltage value should not be reduced. Higher is OK, lower is asking for trouble, safety-wise.

* Sometimes you'll see the voltage rating as "vDC" or just "v", but it always refers to a DC voltage. The "W" means 'working', as in, the voltage at which the component is designed to work. This is a normal expression of an electrolytical cap's value(s).
(EDITed to change the cap's value, an error found by treguitars, and noted below.)

sorry sumgai, but why 0.022uf, surely 22a25 is 22uf. would 0.022uf not be 0.022a25? going ordering caps soon(I think the biasing caps need changing)
thanks

tre, It would seem that I must have been sleeping that night, you caught me out. Fender usually uses a 25µfd unit in that position, whereas Marshall likes a 0.68µfd unit (non-electrolytic) - go figure. I've revised my post above, with reference to your post following, so that no one gets the wrong idea, before reading the whole thread. Thanks. sumgai
