I just finished the QTB mod and I am pleased with the results . There is still some audible hum when i crank the clean channel on my amp, and I am wondering if it has to do with the way the pickups are mounted. I was poking around with a multi-meter and i noticed that some of the mounting screws for the pickups are connected to ground while others arent. I assume that they should all be the same but i am unsure if they should be connected to ground or not.

That's actually a ground loop, Scrape the foil from the area where the springs contact the pickguard & you should be fine.

Or you could use surgical tubing instead of the springs and get rid of the extra unwanted metal alltogather.--- ---

My pickups have rubber tubing rather than spings...so maybe when I put the pickups back in i didnt do it right.

It can only be the screws then.--- --- Try the scrape as "wesman" stated to remove any excess material from coming in contact with the screws.--- ---
