I don't know about anybody else, but when the same person makes multiple posts in a row, it distracts my ability to pay attention to what they're saying. I'm not saying "lets castrate multiposters!", but such as we do with posting in the wrong forum, could we just suggest that a person simply modify their old comment? I'm only talking about multiple posts in a row. If this seems trivial to anybody, just say so and I'll drop it.

I'd hate to open a can of worms on this one...but I don't have to. Back in November of 2008, the dearly missed, but never subtle, ChrisK put up the rules for posting. They go a lot like this:
Posting Rules:
1. Be aware that there are eyes old and new, as well as minds old and new that render help a'board.
2. Please use the the English language along with the principles of grammar taught from grade school up.
3. If you did not suffer through such an education since you were not schooled in an English speaking country, do the best that you can, as you always have.
4 what im saying in other words if the post text runs together without whitespace is devoid of capitalization and punctuation or is compressed into one huge parablob one just might not get the most timely or complete attention of folk that already know the answer to a query this is unfortunate but consider it the fee that some of us charge this is also true if the query is random or vague or illogical or that you assume that we can read minds we can but please refer to the paragraph 2 above since it also applies to ones proclivity for mind reading and the desire thereto
If you post in such parablobic blather-scythe, I will presume (likely correctly) that you won't be capable of understanding the logical solutions tendered, and will focus my efforts on those willing to take the time to properly use language skills.
If you are posting from your iPhone or crackberry, then you most assuredly won't be capable of understanding the logical solutions tendered, especially as they likely will include information in schematic and wiring diagram form.
That's why we invented PCs with real displays and keyboards.
You will find that most responses on this board are in a form suitable for long-term reference by as many folk that might want to.
The first thing that they will have to decipher is the original post. The difficulty inherent therein will determine their willingness to continue.
The folk not of English speaking education mentioned in #3 have an even more difficult time following parablobic bundles of word phrases like #4.
After all, that is the point of this board.
While posting with a mobile device can be problematic, it's not impossible to enter a post. Ash does it all the time...and even with beer soaked socks manages capitalization, punctuation and paragraphs.
I personally see this as a generational thing. I still have the scars from Expository Writing Class. My mother of 82 is a proofreader for a technical book publisher, so I watch my grammar and punctuation out of self preservation. There's nothing worse then getting your Christmas card back marked up in red pencil...
So, I've said it before, and I'll say it again. The better the question you present the better the answer you will receive in return. If the nature of your post is distracting, or troublesome to follow, you will likely miss out on all of the help available to you.
If the desire to add a 5th rule regarding multiple posts gets enough momentum then it may turn into something for the Management to address.
If there is some technical difficulty with the "Modify Post" function please feel free to present it here, or off line in a PM, and possibly we can work out a solution.
My reply is not meant to provoke ire in any of our members, it's merely addressing a concern spoken by one, but possibly felt by others.
Happy Trails

I understand there are some difficulties with using certain mobile devices, in terms of the length of posts. I cant comment on that, my latest 'mobile device' is a nokia from 2003.
Given enthusiam and a will to learn as evidenced from the content , I dont object to such multiple posts if that's the only way. But maybe there are workarounds such as using modify to add further parts to the same post. Its all cool with me, so long as all stays friendly and polite, as per usual on this board.
cheers

All right, let's settle down here.....
As noted, the Admins (newey and I) have already addressed this issue. I hadn't dreamt that it would spill over into the public area, or I would've beat everyone to it.
So here's the real-meal-deal, take or leave it.
I asked "the member in question" (alright, let's get down to it, it's sbgawdo'metal) what the deal was. He's young, he's not illiterate but he's certainly not up to speed on his electronics.... so he doesn't really know what's wrong. So I went and looked - and you can too, if you doubt my research.
For whatever reason, sb is using a PSP3 to achieve Internet access. Ours is not to question why, nor to insist that he do otherwise - ours is to accomodate him as much as possible, that's RandomHero's rule, and I don't have a problem living with it. (Nor dare I say it, neither do any of the other staff members.)
The PSP is not a complicated device, but to achieve that simplicity, something had to give. What gave was the way it browses the Internet. The built-in browser can read most HTML coding, and some advanced things like javascript and DHTML, but it falls short in the really cool stuff like Flash, XML, HTML5 and other technologies. For our purposes, where it really sucks the hind one is the fact that it doesn't (can't? refuses to?) present a form's textbox on the screen. Why, I dunno, and no matter how much I care, it ain't gonna happen, so that's it.
What the browser does instead is present the user with a 'standard' message screen, as if it were an email. When that's been filled in, it gets sent off to the server where the page came from. (If you're in the know about this kind of stuff, it's sent as a Get, and not as a Post. And right there is why the user has a 400 character limit - it's part of the addressing scheme.)
Need I reiterate that those of you who wish to ignore sb's threads/postings are free to do so, without ignomy? Sometimes I do it myself, particularly when c1's Mother is hovering over my sholder, clucking about "the shame of it all" as she shakes her red pencil at my screen.....
But then again, I am old, and I can judge. (Sorry c1, just had to pop that in there.)
My judgement is that sb is trying; I find that overall he's a positive influence to the Forum; that he sometimes comes up with interesting ideas, and that if for no other reason, life's too short to go pissing people off and driving them away just because they don't think/act/work/play the same way we do.
Judgement affirmed, so be it.

Thanks sumgai, if it were me on the other end i'd probably feel the same as they do. Since its myself going through it, i've developed an understanding for others who have to go about posting this way. If it were electronically possible i'd be more than happy to post, open to modify, add extra text. Theres been many a times, that I wished I could post it all at once. But alas I can't . Also if you'll pay attention to times and dates my multiposting is from me posting later on, not simultaniously.

Just throwing it out there, I didn't want this to be a personal attack, and that's why I decided to post this as a widespread suggestion. Additionally, like I said, it doesn't bother me, but I do have a little trouble focusing on the questions at hand.
