I have a peavey delta blues 115 that I have come to love over the years. Recently however' the 'normal' channel volume knob began to leak signal even when "off" does this ,ean I have to repair the ground on the pot itself? Or is a greater problem?
Thank you In advance!

Sounds like a new pot is in order, but I also manged to shock myself changing a speaker in an amp once. Some far more solid advice will no doubt be along soon!

Recently however' the 'normal' channel volume knob began to leak signal even when "off" does this mean I have to repair the ground on the pot itself? Either that or just spray some pot cleaner (NOT tuner cleaner) inside the thing, and rotate the shaft end-to-end a couple of times. Certainly it could be, but let's start with the simple stuff first, eh? HTH sumgai

You can, if you're careful and patient, get the cleaner to make its way into the pot by letting it dribble around the bottom of the pot shaft and rotating the pot back and forth, but it is not very effective. The best way it to get inside the amp chassis (which can be extremely dangerous if not done correctly- as in it could kill you, so check and double check before attempting it), and find the tiny holes in the side of the pot casing. Spraying the cleaner into these using the appliction tube will get it right onto the track where it needs to be. Then just rotate the pot back and forth to make sure it spreads across the whole track, and it should do it's work.
