this is the tonepad circuit small clone modded chorus with 'heartbeat LED' mod - pulses according to rate set, plus 4-position rotary voice select, switching in different value caps for extra depth and delay. Added a bling strip lit by 4 red LED's for the dark bar gigs - its a great lush warm analog chorus and i'd recommend everyone to build one

The glow plate is very cool! Do you embed LEDs into the clear plastic of the plate, or are they just inside the box? And, did you need longer screws for the enclosure?
+1 sir!

Thanks Newey. The LED's sit in 2 (or 4) x 5mm dia holes drilled into the perspex. The domed tops of the LEDs are sanded off as well as the surface of the sides of the LEDs, this helps dissipate the light along the perspex to the edges where it glows like a cheap prop from the set of a Star Trek episode. Longer screws were just avoided by counter-sinking the holes on the base plate a tiny bit deeper. It's a fine line but I got away with it. Note: The raised rim of the base plate needs to be filed flat to sit the perspex sheet onto.

That is just sexy as Hell. I've got to give you a +1 for that...and another one if you figure out how to make it blink like little Christmas lights...

Or, alternating colors would be way cool as well . . .
Since most modern Xmas lights are LEDs nowadays, and since they do have them that blink and/or change color, I would think it should be fairly easy to do either of these things, by simply copying whatever circuitry the Xmas lights have.

The chorus already has a "heartbeat" led, you should have routed that to the baseplate! Maybe you could tap off the LDR circuit in the compressor and have the ground effects follow the intensity of the input signal?

if i can squeeze enough brightness outta the led that would be great - the heartbeat led gets its feed off the leg of the timer chip so i can't get too much volts out of it; waiting on some ultra bright blue leds to turn up off ebay... I already have a little blinky light circuit on veroboard runnig off a 4017 decade counter chip, my next glow plate will build this into it - thanks for the ideas!

You can buffer and/or amplify those control signals just like any other, and get the things as bright as necessary.
