Hi there I have just completed the quieting the beast mod and I have a problem. It seems to buzz more when I selct the neck, middle, or bridge pickup. Not when I pick neck and middle, middle and bridge. It also buzzes when i pick the pickguard up so I don't think I have shileding touching the audio circuit. Can someone please help.

Most modern strat types have a mid Reverse Wound, Reverse Polarity (RWRP) pickup. This essentially is the the same as a two coil humbucker with the exception that the 2 and 4 positions in a strat are wired in parallel instead of in sereis liike a humbucker (unless you went GuitarNuts and added a system series switch). So when you choose Pos. 2 or 5 you have a humcancelling combo.

hey Shibby I just recently did the quieting the beast mod also and I have Lace sensors in mine. The hum is not all the way gone and Im sure I did everything correctly. I think single coils will always have a little hum. Hopefully it dosnt hum more than before you did the mod. If it does Than something is not right. I have also found that my setup buzzes way more with certain effects and gain levels turned on or up. That could also be part of your problem. Other than that Uhhh I dunno. Peace Damian.

Thanks for the help guys. I think the wire from my volume pot to the output jack wasn't soldered very good. I replaced it and the hum seems better. It is silent on positions 2 and 4 with some hum on 1, 2 , 3 if I have the gain turned up. And it only buzzes if I am close to some major appliance. The way my apartment is I can't get away from from these things. (Fridge, washer dryer, air conditioner)ahhh.
