Okay, let me first say for your sanity don't to ask WHY I want to have this option on my guitar but heres my query:
I want to have a 3-way center-off toggle just before the output. Basically its a kill switch with two on positions. 1. Is this option even possible? 2. Would I need to ground this switch? (if so a diagram or description would be nice)

1.yes 2. not necessarily.the switch would(theoreticaly)only need the hot in and hot out connected properly to perfom that type of function.the particular reasons for such a hot rodding does come to question, but whatever the motive, it should be rather simple wiring and shouldn't need any gounding, but youcan if you want to.

I tried a toggle switch in a similar position at the output, as a volume bypass in my case. I found a little extra hum when I touched the switch, so a grounded the switch body with a wire wrapped around the shaft, connected to ground.

i'd watch you don't put it too close to the jack as well. if it touches jack post, you'll have lots of problems.

k. thanks for the input guys. As I thought about this switch i realized it wouldnt be much different from the guitar being unplugged from the amp. Hopefully this goes well. Thanks again!
