Well, i said I'd do an original next, but this one came up. So my friend Karl Blau (fairly big deal on the indie scene) was having this "Kick Starter" fund raiser thing and asked everyone if they'd do a cover of one of his many songs as part of a 24 hour relay of covers kinda deal. This song came out a few years ago on one of the several compilation tapes/cds featuring Anacortes, WA (where Karl and I are from) bands and artists. There is a very short segment of a different version than I had heard at this site: shop.krecs.com/products/klp084My cover, as usual, features me on everything but drum machine. Recorded/mixed via Sonar. The video features the Rexville Grange, which for most of the 90's was a popular all ages venue, and is mentioned in the song along with Best Rd. which is the ...best, well... only road to take out to the grange.

JFP-
Dunno how I missed this when you first posted it, but very nice job!
Is the video also your work (and/or you in it)?
Anyplace that still has a Grange Hall standing after all these years is a) Out in the country for sure and b) Cool in my book.
I spent several summers in the 1970's driving a Ford tractor just like that one, same color and everything- although the one I used had the wide "turf tires" for cutting grass, not the narrow row tires for farming use. Brings back memories.

Thanks, Newey! Yes, I video'd, and starred in (hehe) the video. Actually, my gf helped me shoot a couple of shots, but due to creative differences, she demanded her name not be associated with it I shot it on a little point and shoot camera. I had the song already done, and had it on my phone, which i kept in my shirt pocket to lipsync along with. I did a bunch of shots, and then imported them all into Premiere. Because the sound from my phone made it onto the cam shots, I was able to sync all the shots on the timeline to the actual .wav. Then, after I had each shot synced, it was just a matter of turning each clip on or off and putting a bit of crossfade on the transitions. There was some cows in some of the shots, but, unfortunately, they wound up on the cutting room floor. They'll have to wait for their 15 minutes. Man, we had some good times at that grange, dancing and rocking the night away. The tractor was just out in that field, waiting for me to hop on. I like the last shot because after I walk off frame, you can see Mt. Baker in the distance, just peaking over the foot hills.

Very nice. Again, you have taken the marginal and improved upon it greatly.
As far as the video...hey, it had a tractor in it, so that gets you into a couple of different genres...

Heh, I wondered if anyone would notice. Yeah, that whole being married thing dint really work out for me. It's amicable, joint custody of the dogs and all.
