Hi,
Has anyone tried doing this with two 5-way rotary switches or perhaps a 5-way blade switch and a 5-way rotary?
Thanks.

To me, that is a LOT of work and all you are getting is 4 new sounds. Not to sound conceted, but I think my Strat modification is pretty darned good. www.1728.com/guitar2.htmt doesn't require fancy switches and it gives many more tone options.

I did it with a 5 way lever and a 5 way rotary (in place of the tone control that I never used). I also added a push-pull pot to the volume control for coil splitting, since I have an H-S-H setup. I LOVE this mod. Not only do I have some 17 combinations, but they're easy to get to quickly and pretty intuitive. Wolf's looks pretty flexible as well, but I'm not into lots of mini switches.

I agree. The 5-way switch and 5-way rotary is a great way to perform the modification on a Stratocaster and keep the stock appearance. From a wiring perspective, I think it's less messy than doing two DPDPT push-pull pots. Do you have a schematic (or maybe some pics) for the rotary?

Do you have a schematic (or maybe some pics) for the rotary? No. I could take a shot of my wiring when I get my camera back, but... please don't make fun. ;-) It's really the same as the 4 pole switch, but one wafer has its tabs on the top and one around the outside. BTW, this is on an Ibanez with only 2 pot positions, meaning I have NO tone control (switch, vol. pot, rotary - that's it). But again, I never used it anyway.
