I have a squire stagemaster with two hums and a single in the middle.both hums have two leads and shielding, but the single seems to have only a hot lead and shielding. is this possible?would the shielding lead act as ground?and if i replace the pup with a two lead, what do i do with the ground and shielding wires?both hums have their grounds connected to the 5-way.would i connect the gound from the single to it as well?any help is appreciated.peace

I don't have much experience with all of this yet, but what you are suggesting sounds right to me.

in my austin strat i had a sheilding lead for a ground. if you do replace the pup, you ground the negative lead and the sheilding lead by attaching them wherever the other pickups negative leads are, or anywhere thats grounded.
