I have a Mex Tele with a humbucker in the neck. It is too dark when played alone. I would like to brighten it with a capacitor but not brighten the bridge- that would be "ice pick in the ear" territory. Any suggestions? Thanks, JP

How about putting a series / parallel switch for the neck pickup? Humbuckers, especially in the neck position, tend to sound muddy especially when they are played "straight". Putting the humbucker coils in parallel will give you a brighter sound plus you have the option of series wiring for a dirtier, grittier sound.
