I am sure some of you have heard of these. A box with one input and two outputs. The outputs are wired in series. If you have, have you ever used one? Any effect on tone? Any suggestions on wire gauge and parts?
To further clarify. I have a JCM900 with two parallel speaker outs. I have a custom built 16ohm 2x12 and one Marshall 1550 8 ohm bass cab (planning on buying a second). I would like to run the 2x12 into one speaker out on the JCM and the two 1550's into the second. I would have the JCM set to 8 ohms out thus effectively having 16 ohms (2x12) and 16 ohms (1550 in series with 1550) into the speaker outs in order to get the nominal impedance.

There was some discussion of a series box here, with a diagram courtesy of flateric. Although we did get a bit sidetracked onto drummer jokes therein . . .
