I was looking for a wiring diagram forever for my original mid 80's epiphone nighthawk custom, with coil tap mini switch. the guitar was bought for me years ago as a gift. still had the original, horrible factory wiring. sounded awesome, then one day just stopped working. the wires were barely soldered to the components. finally was able to work out the wires on my own with help from skimming several forums and such, and figured i would put it out here to save someone else the aggravation as there were plenty of people looking for the same thing as me, and no direct answers. hope it helps somebody... peace

Elfman-
Hello and Welcome to G-Nutz2!
Good info, I have taken the liberty of moving this to our "OEM wiring diagrams" section for future reference.
Thanks again, and please do stop by to visit us!

Love the concept of the nighthawk. Actually went out with the intention of buying one a while back... But the small body and the neck dive just didn't feel right. The sounds from it were balls nasty (thank you Frank Miller), but I just couldn't get comfortable with it. Thanks for the drawing !

I drew my own diagram of the factory wiring. It is a bit coarse, but there is some info like the Varitone inductor.
