Sumgai and I were talking offline a while ago and he mentioned that part of this section of the forum was for "paying homage" to artists that have inspired you, or just blew your doors off. Good idea. Granted it only took me many months to actually do something about it... Anyone who knows me can attest to the hours I spend looking up artist and listening to concerts on YouTube. During one of my late night wanderings I put on an old Joe Bonamassa Rockpalast show. I was half watching the video and half running scales when I noticed a guy playing an old Ibanez ATK 305 bass. This caught my attention, because I had just bought a '95 ATK305 bass cheap at the local music shop. Here's a clip: I was amazed at the tone he pulled out of this bass...as I never got it to sound like that... I dug around and found out said bass player was a fellow named Eric Czar. I had to dig a bit deeper on this guy. Google directed me to www.ericczar.com This is just one of the videos of one of his original compositions: This guy has a boatload of originals that just blew me away. And he responds to e-mails...I had to ask what he did to that ATK 305... (it's stock...curse my damn fingers) I would encourage anyone remotely impressed by what I've posted to look up the collection he has posted. And check out the new Lance Lopez album when it comes out. Czar and the ATK305 are both on it. Well, that's it for me. Happy Trails - Cynical One
