The Strat set that I've measured that comes closest to date is the GFS Boston Blues. Few Strat sets have loaded (470pF added) resonant peaks that go much beyond 4kHz. A lot of Fender's sets are almost wound low enough that they should break the 4kHz mark, but they capacitance tends to bring them down to the high 3kHz range. The Boston Blues has an impressively low capacitance, putting it neck and neck with the Lollar Tweeds. I like Lollar because he offers pickup sets that touch the boundaries with the Tweed set and the Special S, but considering this set goes for $285/$315, while the GFS Boston Blues go for $68 ( and look cool!), I don't think the Lollar set is a wise purchase in this case. Seeing as how these are otherwise basic AlNiCo 2 Strat pickups, there is nothing else noteworthy to report.
