www.dimarzio.com/pickups/humbuckers/air-classic-bridgewww.dimarzio.com/pickups/humbuckers/air-classic-neckThis set was presumably DiMarzio's first "air bucker" set, though many, maybe most of the lower output humbucker sets they have released since the 90's use the "air bucker" plastic washers in place of a keeper bar or spacer. This set has a higher loaded resonant peak than either the PAF Master or the 36th Anniversary set. Similar the the PAF Master set, the neck and bridge are not electrically far apart, BUT! where has the PAF Master neck is also an "air bucker", the PAF Master bridge has a traditional PAF footprint with an AlNiCo 4 beside a keeper bar, and so the PAF Master bridge produces about a third more flux density at the pole and screw tops, relative to the PAF Master neck, making the bridge pickup louder, despite the similar RLC values. The "Air Classics" have similar electrical values, and also feature the magnetic circuit, and therefore sound a lot alike. I found that the neck was rather loud compared to the bridge, as will always be the case with matching neck and bridge pickups, and I had to really offset their heights to achieve a good volume balance.
