Fellow Nutz;
It gives the Staff the utmost pleasure in welcoming back into the fold this Forum's originator, RandomHero!
For this reason alone, we will shortly be solving some of the irritating problems bubbling below the surface of everyday activities.
For instance, new Staff members have 'stepped up to the plate'. Please welcome reTrEaD and antigua to the dinner table. Also, please keep in your hearts our undying esteem for ChrisK, the most helpful member by far, in our early years. He's now promoted to Ambassador Emeritus, which requires no Staff duties. Additionally, Runewalker and D2o are now resting comfortably in 'the cheap seats'. Their efforts on our behalf are also to be lauded, they've earned their rest.
More changes are on the way. The Staff has been hashing out (via PM) a way to ensure that images will not be lost again because a photo-hosting provider gets/got greedy for unearned cash. (If you can do it for free, you don't need to do it for profit.) It won't be easy, nor free, nor done by the end of this week, but it will be done. Trust me on this one.
And finally, the biggie for newey and I, eliminating spammers.
While they're not a huge problem, they do consume time better spent elsewhere. I am now studying ProBoard's method of adding modules of code to force new signups to visit a "special" page, whereupon they must successfully answer a question (guitar-related, of course) in order to proceed. The alternative, to have the person wait for Staff approval, is not desireable.
We'd appreciate any input you may have, suggestions, brickbats, whatever. Fire away!

Those of you who have researched the early years of GN2 are already aware that ChrisK and JohnH were the driving forces. Chris had a delightfully wry sense of humor. guitarnuts2.proboards.com/user/33/recentAfter we arrive at a suitable solution for issue of image archiving, we'll fix the buggered images in those PhotoBucket links.

That is good news.
This reminds me - I said I'd retrieve/save some of the broken images. I'll try to do some of that tomorrow.
