Superior, but at a cost.
No money is involved but it will cost you some (well spent) time to set up an account.
What will it do for me?
Okay, I'm in. How do I get started?
Phase-1: Setting up your Cloudinary account.
Phase 2: Put your Cloudinary information into your Guitarnuts2 user profile.
Phase 3: Required Cloudinary Email Verification

You don't have to do any of this. But then you won't have use of this function. It's worth the effort, imho. YMMV.
This seems like a rather long process because of all the words. But it's quicker than it appears.
It's been a while since I created my account so I'll leave this thread open in case there are comments on anything I missed.

It will allow you to upload files, not just images but videos and pdfs. In the case of images and videos, the BBCode necessary to have those displayed in your post will be automatically created by the plug-in. And you can upload these items from your computer, an internet link, or other accounts you may already have such as Facebook, Instagram, Google Photos, or your camera.
Okay, I'm in. How do I get started?
There are numerous paths but the most logical way is to
go to your user profile and click "Edit Profile".
Then select the "Settings" tab.
Scroll down to the "Cloudinary Upload Settings" section and you're ready to begin a three-phase process.
Phase-1: Setting up your Cloudinary account.
When you click on the link "Fill in the next two fields by clicking here to make a cloudinary account" a new tab will open. You can make your Cloudinary account in that tab, the switch back to the tab with your profile settings after you have copied the account information.
You will be prompted to enter the following information:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Password (this should be a new password you wish to use with your Cloudinary Account.
- Your Country (from a menu)
- Near the bottom of the screen you'll see an Assigned cloud name. You can edit this an select a name you like but will only get that cloud name if no one else has already used the name.
- At the very bottom, click the CREATE ACCOUNT button and move forward to the next screen.
A pop-up may appear but you can bypass that and just go to 'next'
When you arrive at your Cloudinary Console, click the icon that looks like a gear at the top of the page. This will allow you to change your settings. Then Click the Upload choice on the menu.
Scroll down the page and click on Enable unsigned uploading - You can edit the name of the preset that was just created, if you like. Do not share the name with anyone or post it in a public place. Else others will be able to upload to your account.
Be sure to click SAVE at the bottom of the screen!
Phase 2: Put your Cloudinary information into your Guitarnuts2 user profile.
Copy the name of the Upload Preset you just made.
Then switch back to the browser tab with your edit profile.
Paste the Upload Preset into the appropriate field
Switch back to the browser tab for Cloudinary
Click the cloud icon at the far left at the top of the screen.
The first item under Account Details will be your cloud name.
Copy that name
Switch to the browser tab with your edit profile
Paste your Cloud Name into the appropriate field.
Now select which sources you wish to make available when uploading by ticking the boxes.
Then click the Save Cloudinary Settings button.
Phase 3: Required Cloudinary Email Verification
Go to the email account you used to create your Cloudinary account.Further info is available here, if necessary.
Open the 'Cloudinary - Email Verification' message.
Take the link or paste it into your browser and go there.
You will arrive at your Cloudinary Console and your account creation process will be complete.
You're done!
