*link snipped*This thing is fun as hell, and easy to use. No batteries. Hammer the strings like a dulcimer/santoor/kanoun and go back to plucking normally without missing a beat. Costs less than all but the cheapest pedals. Ok, fair enough... I may stick around and participate. To be honest, I only have so much time for messageboards and there are a few I already frequent. Would it be possible for me to send one to you, or maybe some other established board member for review? Then you or they could post something instead of me, and it wouldn't be an advertisement.

Hey, FWIW, I did a quick search and found a few threads where I've been mentioned... 'What it's worth' is ... not much, really. Fender has been mentioned thousands of times on GN2 but if someone from their organization membered up here with the singular purpose of making a sales pitch for a new product, they'd be turned away, too. The reality is: Guitarnuts2 follows in the footsteps of John S. Atchley (Guitarnuts™). This forum is targeted primarily at the do-it-yourself guitarist. The focus is on knowledge of how things work and how one might use that knowledge to make their guitars/amps/accessories better than they were, right out of the box. Product reviews on guitars and equipment is okay too. But those should be from unbiased sources. Unless someone as a history of community involvement (that means taking the time and effort to participate in discussions -- not being the subject of discussions) or presenting information that helps others with their own projects) they definitely will not be permitted to make a sales pitch for their own business. and I know ashcatlt from the tapeop board... maybe I should just contact him there and send him one. Aside from his position on staff here, Ash is a tenured and highly respected member of this community. If he chooses to take the time and do a comprehensive (and unbiased) evaluation of your product and write up his findings, pending approval by the rest of the staff, it will be posted publicly. |

As an additional note, when members have "hawked their wares" here, we require that they be upfront about any financial interest in a product, or if they are developing something with the intent to market it, that they likewise disclose their commercial intent.

Oh, no! I was all set to show up at his house with a video camera to force him to do a demo at gunpoint. I'll have to change my plans. "Look like you're having fun, dammit! It's supposed to be fun"! I'm not some evil corporate behemoth... I'm just one guy with an idea, making stuff by hand. May the Lord have mercy on my soul. I'm not a fan of advertising myself, so I understand and sympathize with the hostility (maybe that's not how it's intended, but that's what it feels like on the receiving end) but I honestly believe this is something that would be of interest to many guitar players. I would want to know about it if it wasn't my idea. |

I would think that being a part of the broader DIY guitar community for many years (decades, really) would count for something, but, hey, this particular board is your online home, not mine, and I didn't come here to start any fights. So, the last word is yours, if you want it.

Well, that was weird. I was kinda happy to see that ubertar had joined up. Pretty sure I invited him from the TOMB a while back because we've had some interesting discussion over there, and I thought he'd bring an interesting perspective. I have kind of lusted after his hex pickups for a while, though they are just a bit out of my price range. IDK what the hell happened here. I do see where the OP looked a lot like SPAM. Signing up just post links to something you're trying to sell is pretty sketchy netiquette. I'm not sure that it was really intended that way, though. He did reply to at least one other thread, and I think sincerely intended to contribute to the community.
Ah well, he's gonna send me one of these things anyway. I probably wouldn't use something like this live, but based on what I see in the demo video, I think it could be useful for some unique textures in a studio setting. For those who might be curious, this is what the OP was trying to show us:

But then he got melodramatic, RT calls him on it, and he gets to the point of dropping an F-bomb before checking out. I frankly don't know what happened here either.
