Today is National Electric Guitar Day - Did you know the electric guitar was invented in 1931?
I didn't even know until I saw Scott's avatar on the Support Forum.
Invented in 1931? Is that correct?
I wonder who did that?
Betcha it wasn't Leo!

Yes, presuming the Rickenbacker "Frying Pan" lap steel qualifies as an "electric guitar". In my opinion, it does- it is not a Spanish guitar but a Hawaiian one, nonetheless a guitar. But I could understand someone calling foul. After all, "Rocket 88" wasn't written for a lap steel. Edit: Oh, and Happy National Electric Guitar Day to you as well! I recommend celebrating by buying that cinnamon-metallic finished Tele I saw in the shop window last week . . . Edit2: And, yes the little Santa and fir tree emojis are nice (and seasonal). "Entertainment Director", however, while perhaps arguably appropriate, might just be a bit of resume padding.

Interesting!
My son went to a Steven Wilson concert in Toronto on 27 November (this past Tuesday) and Wilson told the audience that he was going to tell a guitar joke (many of the audience were likely under 25 years of age).
He held up his vintage Telecaster and said: "To those of you who are younger than 25 - this is called a guitar!"
Ironic that this was on National Electric Guitar Day, no?
Perhaps the trend for rap, hip hop, and other similar cheap-to-produce music will start to give way to music that once again involves developed skills and musical knowledge, like the music by my favourite instrument, the (electric) guitar. I have seen it wane in the past, only to return with renewed vigor. I hope this happens again.

Yeah that was an interesting coincidence, blademaster2 I think we'll see an awful lot of cheap music in the mainstream because ... well because it is cheap to make and the record moguls love to make cheap stuff if they can sell a ton of copies and reap a ton of profit. That's my Thursday opinion but I'll probably feel the same tomorrow.
