The staff of GN2 would like to acknowledge those who have purchased ad-free blocks for the forum:
thetragichero, cmscss, and an unidentified guest.

Thank you for your contributions. They make this already great forum an even more pleasant experience.

The Ad-free for January has been provided by cmscss. We currently have several blocks in the bank purchased by him, thetragichero, JohnH, and newey.

Many thanks to those that do this but I don't see any ads with the Proboards Android app anyway, and what you are not aware of doesn't remind you to chip in. I made a one month ad-free contribution once for another forum. Proboards took my money soon enough, but the ads kept a-coming. Upon investigation it turned out that only staff could actually implement what I'd paid for (OK that may have changed, but that was the case back then.) I suppose I could have contacted the staff and given a heads-up, but that would have defeated the altruistic purpose. Moreover the Proboards team have never once responded to any of my few polite enquiries. Hey-ho, s'life I guess.

That's still true, b4nj0. And I'm not sure if the main admin (user/1) receives any notifications that they have ad-free blocks available when someone else purchases them, but other administrators are definitely not notified.

We had a couple of blocks that were purchased by an anonymous user, God knows when. We weren't aware of them until stumbled across in the Admin panel in June of last year.

For those not on the Staff, so you can't see the referenced "Admin Panel", what unreg has done is to purchase, on a recurring basis, ad-free page-views for everyone. That's not exactly a minor thing, I'm sure you all understand. Do the Staff a favor and drop unreg a line, thanking him for his generosity.

sumgai, I’m still seeing ads. At least there were ads before I logged in to reply. Is that bc someone has to apply the ad-free time you have now? … in the admin panel?

Well, I’m super pleased you all are free of ads now, I guess that’s the case. I’m now ad free when logged in, but not ad free otherwise. That’s perfectly ok though, as long as everyone else is ad free on this site.

Well, I guess it's just my phone that still receives ads while I'm not logged in. This site is ad free all the time on my CPU.
