Hi there! A lot of time without posting... This time I'd like to share with you the most simple Parallel/Series mod I've been able to come to. I've conceived this from the beginning, but I don't really know if I'm reinventing the wheel. If it’s the case, I apologize. The mod I bring is a request from a guy who didn’t want the complications of more elaborated mods. He only wanted to add the (Bridge x Middle) and (Neck x Middle) sounds to his Strat. I’ve come to this: It has the advantages of simplicity and the possibility of keeping separated tone controls. Can you see any fault in there? Thanks

In position 3, both the bridge and middle pickups are hanging from the hot line of the mid pup. As we have said, not necessarily a deal breaker, but might generate some noise. No way around that with just a SPDT switch.
I also wonder about positions 2 and 4, since the middle pickup will have either the B or N pup shorted to itself through the same connections, but I guess it will be OK.

Its a good concept, and we have several schemes in the schematic section that use it, or a close variant.
Typical variations can include:
Using the bridge instead of the middle, for going into series with the others. You get B, B, BxM, Bx(N+M), BxN
Putting a pot across the series pickup to fade it down.
using a two-pole switch to get more variations instead of the three M tones

Thank you both for your quick replies.
This makes me think of a suggestion: don't you think that some sort of Mods Directory would be great? A place where all Mods posted in this great forum would be clasified and easy to find with a link to the post where it was discussed. I know it's a lot of work, but it would be THE place of it in the internet.

Its a good idea and thanks, but it is a lot of work, and it would need to be maintained too.
But, we do keep our best, finished, most resolved stuff in a few key sections such as Schematics, Modules and References. Theres not too many to look through there. There's also our Phostenix archive, which has index and menu etc, but that was a one-off (lot of) work on a completed collection.
