Hello and Welcome to G-Nutz2!
The short, simple answer is that typically the red wire from an EMG active pickup will be wired to the positive terminal of the 9V battery. The negative (black) battery connection is then wired to the ring lug of a TRS jack, so as to disconnect the battery when no cable is plugged in.
But I emphasize the "typically" here, because there are many different EMG pickups, and many different ways they might be wired. I'm certainly no expert on these pickups, and without knowing more, I couldn't say for sure that's the answer. Is this already installed into the guitar and you're trying to repair a broken connection? Or are you just now installing it?
We may need to see the overall wiring scheme here to be certain.
