Much to my wife's chagrin, I will listen to just about anything with Billy Sheehan and Mike Portnoy, or Billy Sheehan and Dennis Chambers.
All that aside, I'm also not a tremendous fan of metal vocals...so I passed on Sons of Apollo because the idea of listening to Jeff Soto sing for 55 minutes made me ill.
While flipping through Joe Satriani's YouTube channel I found a few videos where other guitar players play over Satriani songs that have had the lead or lead and rhythm guitar cut out of the mix, which Satriani released himself. I watched a few, then stumbled on this one:
Guthrie Govan is the only other guy I've seen pull off a fretless guitar like this...
How did I miss this guy?

Genuine guitarist, does he attach anything metallic on his tapping finger? How can he achieve those sounds?

edit : i watched with better resolution, yes this is a finger cover like my mom used to use when sewing, clever !!!
