Steve Vai and Ibanez have a new guitar. The Hydra: The rough description is: "The Hydra’s two headstocks and three necks host seven and 12-string guitars, and a four string ¾ scale length headless bass, along with 13 sympathetic harp strings.: And go figure, there's a video, too: The last time he did this was the Ultra guitar by Alistair Hay of Ireland. I'm impressed he got Ibanez to do it. They said it was built to go up for auction, but that's a lot of imagination to wind up hanging in a Hard Rock Cafe somewhere... HTC1

Rick Neilsen will see Vai's three necks and raise him two . . . His original 5-neck was custom built by Hamer in 1981, and he has had several more made since then with even more necks. One of his monstrosities includes (wait for it . . .) . . a 12-string bass neck! In the picture above, he has a 12-string neck, a Strat guitar, an LP Jr-ish one, and a fretless 6-string neck.

Hmmm… Rick Neilson’s spine must constantly be screaming, “STOP PLAYING FIVE NECK GUITARS!” while he is attempting sleep.
The three neck seems heavy enough. 👍
Meanwhile, I’m always attempting to play a single neck guitar. 😔

And go figure, there's a video, too: I got a big grin from those three dual triodes backlit in green.

Personally, I've never felt the need for a "climax regulator" . . .

This guitar needs some cell renovation adjuster and also some immunity booster switch.
