Does anyone know anything about the pickups in the new Harmony Guitars built by Heritage? They call them gold foil pickups and I can't find any published specs. To me they sound pretty similar to regular humbuckers. Would be interesting to see what's under the hood. The dimensions seem to match a regular humbucker and my sneaky suspicion is that it's a regular "slug only" humbucker hiding under the gold foil cover... could be wrong though.

From what I know about GF's, and listening to this a Jay's fantastic demo, I imagine they are low inductance, Ferric ceramic powered HB's, possibly with Steel slugs and thin wire. The original GF's had 44AWG wire, but were also pretty microphonic with unpotted coils. They sound really warm and sparkly to me in the guitar. The Brass covers may impart some chimey microphonic coloration right next to the coils like that. Not for Metal styles, but more like Filtertron style old time R&B, R&R or Country. I really like them. Jay makes really good use of them into his Tone King amp. The Harmony amps sound great as well.
