Been looking at this circuit To me, it's normal settings and then when toggled you get --,MxN,--,MxB,-- Because no ground till M is linked Drove me nuts with all the links on the switch. So cut them out and down to 3pole but that doesn't do any thing once over 2pole. But wonder what is the difference between NxM and MxN. In maths terms they are both summed up (crazy using a X sign) Middle Pickup Henry's plus the Neck pickup Henry's along with the resistance. ------ If it doesn't matter NxM or MxN then I could link the Neck/Bridge Ground points to Common of 2P2T, with one of the throws to Ground and the other to Middle. The other common can go from Middle with one of the throws to B2 and the other linked to the other pole. Taking it away from the 5way switch and adding it behind the Neck/Bridge, that only comes in to play at NxM, NxM,--, BxM, BxM it was making my eyes twich with all them LINKS Top Middle is how i see the Circuit TOP LEFT is taking out a POLE did want to take out TWO POLES really because i hate all these LINKS TOP RIGHT sadly Phases the Middle in Series BOTTOM LEFT change the order with less blank spaces BOTTOM RIGHT Change the order Plus Kill switch but the Series are in Different Locations I think I got the M before the N/B but as the EX would say Wrong Hole

@angellahash-
Sound wise, there should be no difference in the order of components in series. We have had some theorizing here that, if the two pickups are very dissimilar, there might be a difference, but no one has ever shown a difference audibly, at least not that I recall.
But more basically, back to the diagram, did you see in the article discussing this what type of 4P2T switch is used? There are a couple of different types, I couldn't see how this diagram would work with the usual sort of 4P toggle, but if it uses the so-called "Kent Armstrong" type it may be OK, I didn't look at that as a possibility.
