I originally posted this in the wrong place. I really like this wiring and used it successfully before. This transformed my LTD EC100 into a really versatile lp Junior. Here is my post: I have wired this one with CTS 3910 (A500k push pull) pots. When I turn the tone down below 2 or so, the volume goes to zero. I must assume that the pot drawings oriented with the pushed terminals on top and the pulled terminals against the blue circle pot but these never seem to be labeled as such. ( I have confirmed that John H's drawings are just as i assumed). Any Idea what I may have done wrong?
Thanks for any help -Chris H I read another post with this very same issue. John H thought it may be a stray ground wire, even just one hair. That seems likely to be the issue, but i have not found any strays, yet. I will keep looking. The other post with this same issue: Pot question *facepalm* - Oct 1, 2012 14:15:39 GMT -6 bowyn Here is the drawing I found it years ago but cannot find the original post: HH Crossover WiringTone

hmmm well, it looks like my tone pot wiring is not as right as it should be. In fact it look wrong! (sorry!).
As drawn, the tone pot is directly connected from hot to ground, so as it gets towards zero, it's shunting the whole sound. So, remove the black wire from tone pot right lug to ground at back of switch, a put the tone cap in its place.
So connections are: volume outer hot lug to tone middle lug (as currently shown in green), tone right lug to cap, other end of cap to ground at top of switch.
Now the tone pot can't get to ground except via the cap.
