Hi Guys,
I just tried to buy some Mouser Xicon 42TL022 transformers and the number is obsolete. I tried contacting Xicon but their website does not work. Does anybody have the new numbers for the Mouser Xicon Transformers by Henries? I’ve emailed Mouser and have received no response. It’s a long shot but I thought someone on here might have the new numbers for these parts.

unfortunately since you're using it for an off-label purpose and they don't list inductance on the datasheet (https://www.mouser.com/datasheet/2/449/Yuetone_XC-600127-1212403.pdf) it'll be a crapshoot this has the same primary and secondary impedances but different primary and secondary dc resistances, implying different gauge wire and/or different number of turns (although the turns ratio between the primary and secondary would be the same because the impedance ratio is the same). will it work for your purposes? no clue

Thank Guys, I heard back from Mouser. Mouser is only carrying 42TL021RC 4K 1.5H and 42TL019RC 10k 3.75H on line. I have to call them to see if they have the other sizes. I can’t get Xicon’s website to work.

I can’t get Xicon’s website to work. Guess you didn’t read my post?

No Unreg,
I am doing a push pull passive boost using a 7.5H Xicon. I’m up the creek because they no longer make them. It’s the size of these Xicons that is important. I can use a a Xicon on the push pull for the boost and it fits on a Strat between the two tone pots. But without a suitable replacement, the transformer (yet to be found) will most likely be too large.

But without a suitable replacement, the transformer (yet to be found) Ever considered winding your own? I did a quick search aboot the web, and started with the term "winding your own coils". Most of the results are geared to radio frequencies, but the math is the same. Unfortunately, nearly all of them start out with some rather deep math, which I think is putting the cart before the horse - you want to learn how to build a coil first, then learn how to tailor it to your needs/specifications. Interestingly enough, I found one website that talks about how to wind coils for vape devices, homemade or to repair one. That seemed to be close enough for your purposes, but the video seems a little to presumptive of one's knowledge level, and may cause you one or more headaches. Nonetheless, the idea of building your own coils is out there in force, and you should be able to find either an article or a video that gives you what you want. Yeah, I know - it's a distraction, and a further drain on your time. However, companies that make coils come and go (as you're finding out), whereas wire of all sizes and types will always be around. Better to be self-sufficient, no? HTH sumgai

Hi Sumgai, I have been trying to wind my own. I bought some traditional typ of bobbins and some pot cores. I haven’t had much luck. Using .2mm wire, I was only able to wind this one to .5H. The pot cores came without plastic bobbins so I have to find some others. I tried .05mm wire but it kept on breaking. So next will be .1mm wire. I just don’t know if I’ll make it to 7.5H like the obsolete Xicon TL017’s. A friend figured out how to get the new RevStars boost feature and I have modified it for a Strat. I found 7.5H was necessary to get a substantial boost. So unless I find some more at a reasonable cost, I won’t be doing that mod anytime soon.

Define "pot core". Pictures will help.

Sumgai, I believe it’s full moniker is “ferrite pot core.” It looks like the following: So you wind the wire around the little plastic bobbin.
